What a TYPO3 project needs from its hosting provider
TYPO3 is a PHP content management system built for large, structured, multilingual sites, which is why it turns up on university, public sector and enterprise projects more than on brochure sites. Modern TYPO3 is installed and updated with Composer, and the two current LTS releases each pin a range of PHP versions, so the first thing a TYPO3 hosting plan has to get right is the runtime.
Every plan here has SSH with Composer, the PHP version switchable per site, and MariaDB or PostgreSQL for the database. The TYPO3 scheduler runs from a real cron entry, so indexing, cache warming and scheduled publishing happen on time whether or not anyone is visiting. Extensions install from Packagist or the TYPO3 Extension Repository the way the docs describe, with no host-imposed workaround.
Underneath is the same LiteSpeed and NVMe platform as every plan, with LSCache in front of TYPO3's own page cache. On a content-heavy TYPO3 site the database is the hot path, and NVMe is where it lives.
Is TYPO3 like WordPress?
They solve different problems.
