Grav is a flat-file CMS: content lives as Markdown files in folders, there's no database to create or back up, and a whole site is a directory you can copy or keep in Git. That makes it one of the simplest platforms to host. What a Grav host still has to get right is PHP: Grav wants a current PHP 8 release with a handful of extensions, and it's fastest with an opcode cache in front of it.
Every plan here has PHP 8 switchable per site with the extensions Grav needs, SSH for the Grav CLI, and Git for the Git Sync plugin if you edit locally and push. NVMe storage suits a file-based CMS well: every page render is file reads, and NVMe makes those quick. LSCache sits in front for the pages Grav has already rendered.
Install Grav by uploading the Grav Core plus Admin package and opening the site; the Admin plugin gives editors a browser interface so nobody has to touch Markdown who doesn't want to. Themes and plugins install from the Admin or with the Grav CLI over SSH. Updates run from the Admin dashboard, and because there's no database, a backup is the folder: Grav's own backup command zips it, and our off-site backups cover the account as well.
If you develop locally, the Git Sync plugin keeps the server in step with your repository, so the hosting workflow is a git push. Staging is a second folder or a second site on the same plan.
