Sulu is a content management platform built on Symfony, aimed at enterprise and agency projects that need structured content, multiple sites and languages, and a proper developer workflow. A Sulu project is a Symfony application: Composer for dependencies, a database, the Symfony console for setup and cache, and a deployment step rather than a file upload.
That's the shape of hosting we provide. SSH with Composer and the Symfony CLI available, PHP 8 switchable per site, MySQL or PostgreSQL on NVMe, and a cron entry for the scheduler and any Symfony Messenger workers the project runs. Deploy with Deployer, a Git pull, or CI over SSH; the web root points at the public directory as Symfony expects.
Sulu also offers its own cloud hosting. If the project has no other sites around it and the team is happy there, that's a reasonable choice. A UK host suits agencies with several Sulu or Symfony projects, UK data residency requirements, or a mixed portfolio they'd rather keep in one control panel.

A single Sulu site with a normal editorial load runs well on a shared cloud plan. Move to a managed VPS when the project runs long-lived workers, needs Redis or Varnish in front, or wants root access for its own deployment pipeline. Migrating between the two is a Composer project, a database and the uploads directory, which we move for free.
