Super helpful team and always provide a five-star service. Can't recommend using them enough.
Who you would be selling to
Check us out before you tell us anything.
You are about to hand over customers you have looked after for years. Here is everything you need to verify us, and none of it relies on taking our word for it.
Snappy Host Ltd
Company no. 12659438, registered in England and Wales. Look us up at Companies House.
Rated Excellent
Publicly reviewed by the customers you would be handing over. Read them yourself on Trustpilot.
See our TrustpilotOver 10,000 websites
Already hosted on our UK platform, so yours would not be the first migration we have run.
ICO registered
Registration no. ZB032228. Your customer data is handled under a documented policy, not an ad hoc one.
What we buy
The client base, not the boxes.
We buy the hosting customers, their sites and their recurring revenue. You keep the company, the hardware, the leases and the debts, so there is no share sale to unpick and no due diligence on a limited company you would rather just wind down quietly.
Every account is migrated onto our UK platform by our own engineers. You do not have to move a single site, cancel a single server, or explain anything to anyone until the handover is agreed and ready.
- Shared, business and reseller hosting accounts
- The recurring revenue attached to them
- Optionally your domain book, transferred at the registrar
Winding down instead of selling? We will still take the accounts on and migrate them, so your customers are not left to find a new host on their own.
Why owners come to us
If any of this sounds like you.
Almost nobody wakes up one morning and decides to sell a hosting company. It is usually one of these, and it has usually been true for a while.
You want to retire
The business works, you just do not want to run it for another decade. You want it handed over properly.
You are tired of the 2am tickets
Hosting never sleeps. If you have not had a fortnight away without a laptop in years, that is reason enough.
The margins have gone
Licence costs, hardware and bandwidth all went up. The prices you can charge did not. It works at scale, and you are not at scale.
Hosting is not your business any more
You are a design or dev shop and hosting became a support burden you never meant to take on. It distracts from the work you actually sell.
A partner has left, or wants out
Somebody needs paying out, and selling the book is usually cleaner than arguing about what it is worth.
Health, or life, got in the way
It happens. If you need this dealt with quickly and discreetly, say so on the first call and we will work to your timescale.
Want to stop running hosting, but keep your clients?
Then you do not want to sell, and we would be wasting your time quoting you a price. Our Agency Partner and reseller plans put your clients on our platform, under your brand, with us doing the support. You keep the relationship and the recurring revenue, and you stop carrying the pager.
What we look for
Is your book a fit?
Here is the honest list, so you can rule yourself in or out in thirty seconds.
Must have
All of these, or it is unlikely to work.
- A UK-based business
- Customers mostly UK resident
- Trading for at least two years
- Turnover flat or growing, not falling away
- A control panel we can migrate from cleanly
- Billing records we can actually read
Makes it easy
Not required, but each one speeds the deal up.
- 250 or more hosting accounts
- cPanel and WHM, or Enhance
- WHMCS on a current, supported version
- Nameservers you control
- Monthly or rolling supplier contracts
- A clean abuse and chargeback history
Pushes the price up
The things that make a book valuable.
- Mostly monthly billing, low churn
- Your own RIPE IP space
- Nominet TAG holder status
- A domain book alongside the hosting
- Long-standing customers who stay
- You are willing to introduce us properly
On DirectAdmin, Plesk or Blesta instead? Still talk to us. Those migrations take a little longer to plan, but we have no problem with them. Same for a smaller book than the numbers above.
What it is worth
How we value a hosting book.
Offers are based on 6 to 12 months of recurring revenue from shared, business and reseller accounts. Where in that range you land depends on churn, billing terms and how much of the book is on monthly rather than annual renewal.
Annual plans count too. Divide the yearly price by twelve, exclude VAT and exclude domain renewals.
Roughly what share of accounts cancel in a year. Steady customers are worth more, because more of them will still be here in twelve months.
Annual customers have usually paid for service not yet delivered, which has to be settled between us at completion.
What else moves you up the range
- Clean, current billing records
- Customers on cPanel or Enhance
- A domain book alongside the hosting
- You stay on to introduce us
Indicative offer range
£32,025 to £38,325
Based on 9.2 to 11.0 months of revenue
That is above the £2,000,000 we would normally take on in a single deal. Still worth a conversation, but expect a different structure.
Get a real numberYour figures, our published range. Illustrative and not an offer.
Paid on a schedule you agree
Structure is part of the negotiation. Most sellers take a payment on completion and the balance across the retention period.
Retention bonus
If the customers stay, you earn more. Retention is measured over 12 months from handover and paid on top of the headline figure.
What is excluded
Domain registrations, hardware, IP transit contracts and anything outside the hosting book are valued separately, or not at all.
We will look at books up to £2,000,000 in value. Larger than that and we would rather tell you straight away than waste your time.
The process
Six steps, and most of the work is ours.
Straightforward books can go from first conversation to completed migration in a few weeks. Nothing is announced to your customers until you are ready.
A quiet conversation
Call us or send the form below. No numbers needed yet. We will tell you straight if your book is something we would buy.
NDA, signed digitally
Before you show us a single customer record, we both sign a mutual NDA. It takes minutes and protects your side as much as ours.
Valuation
We look at the billing export, the churn and the plan mix, then come back with a figure and how we got to it. No black box.
Contracts
Terms, payment schedule and retention bonus in writing. Take it to your accountant and your solicitor. We would.
Migration
Our engineers move every account, out of hours, staged and tested first. Normally with no downtime at all, and never a surprise for your customers.
Handover
Customers are welcomed onto our platform and client area. You are done and paid, and free to get on with whatever is next.
Your customers
The part that actually keeps you up at night.
You have probably had the same customers for years. Handing them to a faceless buyer who puts the prices up and answers tickets in four days is not what you want your name attached to.
So: their sites get faster, not slower. Support is a UK team on the phone, not an offshore queue. We do not hike prices at handover to recover the purchase, and anyone who wants to leave can leave with a full backup and no argument.
No price hike at handover to pay for the purchase
UK support on the phone, not a scripted queue
Free to leave with a full backup, no argument
In confidence
Tell us about your book.
Rough numbers are fine, and you can leave anything blank. This goes to one person. Nothing is shared with anyone else.
Who you will deal with
Our acquisitions team. Two people, not a queue.
- A company director Owns the commercial side: valuation, terms and the payment schedule. Can say yes without asking anybody.
- A senior platform engineer Scopes the migration itself, so the deadlines you are given come from the person who has to meet them.
Rather just talk? A five-minute call is usually enough to tell whether this is worth either of us taking further. Ask for acquisitions.

Useful to have to hand
- A count of active hosting accounts
- Monthly and annual recurring revenue, ex VAT
- Churn over the last twelve months
- Which panel and billing system you run
- Any contracts you are tied into
None of it is needed for a first conversation. Do not send customer data before an NDA is in place.
FAQ
Selling up, answered
Anything not covered here, ask. We would rather answer it now than halfway through a deal.
Ask us directlyIs this confidential?
How much is my hosting company worth?
Are you buying my limited company?
What happens to my customers?
Do I have to do the migration?
How long does it take?
My book is small. Is it worth asking?
I am on DirectAdmin, Plesk or Blesta rather than cPanel and WHMCS. Does that rule me out?
Before you decide
Read up first. We would.
Written from the buying side, including the parts that lower the price. Read them before you talk to us, or to anybody else.
What is a UK hosting company actually worth?
Most owners either wildly over-value or wildly under-value their hosting book. Here is the multiple buyers actually use, what moves it up and down, and how to sanity-check your own number before you talk to anyone.
Read the guideHow to sell a hosting client base without losing the customers
The money in a hosting sale is tied to customers staying. Here is how to prepare the book, run the handover and say the right things at the right time, from someone who has been on the receiving end of both good and bad handovers.

Ready to hand it over to someone who cares?
One conversation, no obligation, and nothing leaves the room. If it is not a fit, that is the end of it. If it is not a fit we will tell you straight, and point you at someone who might be.
