Self-hosting Craft on a UK server is the other route, and it's the one most UK agencies still take: your client's data stays in a UK data centre, you pay in pounds, and you keep the same control panel workflow across every site you look after. Craft's system requirements are ordinary PHP 8 and MySQL or PostgreSQL, so it runs well on LiteSpeed with NVMe underneath.
If you're weighing the two, the honest split is this. Craft Cloud if the project has no other sites around it and the team is happy in dollars. A managed UK host if you run several Craft projects, want UK data residency, or already work in a standard control panel.
Deploying Craft the way you already work
Craft's project config lives in YAML and belongs in Git, so deploys are a pull, a composer install and a migrate. Git in the control panel lets you clone the repository into the account and pull on demand, and Composer and the Craft CLI are on the command line over SSH.
Queue jobs run from a cron entry calling craft queue/run, which we set up during onboarding so image transforms and Craft Commerce emails don't wait for a page load to trigger them. Multiple PHP versions are switchable per account, which covers a Craft 4 project and a Craft 5 project side by side.
Caching is LiteSpeed's LSCache at the server plus Craft's own template caching, and Cloudflare in front if you want a CDN for assets. That combination is what makes a Craft site feel quick to an editor as well as a visitor.

SSH access with Composer available, so craft install, migrate and project-config/apply run as normal.
